PROJECT: YOUNG INVENTORS, PHASE 3

Let’s continue with our project!!! We are in the third phase (there is one more left!!). So read carefully to know what you have to do.

Phase 3: Present your invention (slideshow, video, model, mural)
Once you have the idea and the prototype, it’s time to explain a little more about it. I want you to prepare a writing to explain your invention

Take care of your spelling and the presentation. Look for the format you prefer to do this, you are totally free; the clue is that your invention has to be explained properly. Here you have the aspects that have to appear:
- what it consists of
- what it is for
- what materials it is made of
- what kind of people will use it
- and any other aspect that you consider relevant

If you want to prepare a presentation to do this activity, you can access through this link: OUR INVENTIONS

YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

Now that your technical team has an invention to develop, you have to shape your company.

You already have the company name and the slogan. Today we have to develop a dossier detailing the economic part.

- On the one hand, the purchasing department must establish where and for how much money you will acquire the necessary materials.

- The finance department will have to establish where you will get the money to finance the project.

In this folder you can start a document or a presentation to do it: OUR DOSSIERS

7th june _ TASK 4th MIX

GOOD MORNING!!

Today is 4thB and 4thA's tour, and we are out with the bikes. And I need you to  continue working on our new project: YOUNG INVENTORS

Last week we talked about the lever. Now it's time to talk a little about ramps and pulley. Take a look at these videos:

THE PULLEY

THE RAMP (INCLINED PLANE)

Here you have some activities you can do about simple machines:
Let's continue with our project!!
Last week you detected different problems in daily life and you thought of different solutions for them. That was PHASE 1 of our project.
Today we start phase 2!!!

Phase 2:  Your prototype
What you have to do is to choose one of your ideas and design a prototype.
It has to be available, maybe you can’t make it because you need materials or technology to do it. But it has to be something you think it can be built.
So it’s time to choose one of your ideas, the one you like the most. Then paint or make a model of your prototype (choose the best way for you), explain briefly how it works.

Here you have my example:
Phase 1: Detect difficulties/problems and think of possible solutions
I choose the first problem I wrote last day. And I choose the first solution I thought of.
PROBLEM / DIFFICULTY
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Many times the soup is very hot and they burn their tongue.
- Something to cool the soup.
- Something to avoid soup be too hot

Phase 2:  Your prototype
And here is my prototype

7th june _ TASKS 5th MIX

GOOD MORNING!!

Today is 4thB and 4thA's tour, and we are out with the bikes. And I need you to  continue working on our new project: YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS. Before anything we have to know what a company is. So let's watch these videos about it:

Then I need you to do all this tasks:

  1. Read page 44 of your Social Science book and do activity 1 on a paper.
  2. Read page 45
  3. Think of your company and choose your advertising strategy.
  4. Design your advertising with your slogan. (Ask the teacher for some cardboards if you need). If you need pictures, upload them here and I'll print them for next day. Use these folders (one per company): ADVERTISMENT _ 5th MIX

Minerals and rocks

To distinguish the hardness of a mineral, we can use Mosh hardness scale. Take a look how it works:
